The levy category is for milk recording herds. Only those with non-registered herds may join the Society free of charge for the first year. This is subject to a signed agreement to continue your membership for a further two years, commencing at the date of application. The cost is £9.00 (plus VAT) per cow per year. Please, therefore, order the appropriate number of units for your cows: for example, if you have 10 cows, please order 10 memberships (£90.00 plus VAT). This charge covers the following services: Newsletter -- 2 issues per year Registration of all Guernsey Cattle, to be entered into the appropriate herdbook Classification -- Currently being carried out by Holstein U.K. and Ireland Classifiers, every seven months **Please Note: Those joining free for the first year will not be classified until the anniversary of application to the Society.Herd book Herd visits -- once each year Representation of the Guernsey breed at shows and sales.
This category entitles the member to register as many calves as he or she wishes. The cost of membership is £50.00 per year. In addition, there is a charge of £25.00 for each calf registered, and a charge of £50.00 for each bull calf registerd. (All prices are plus VAT.) Associate members may only register one Guernsey calf per year. The cost of membership is £25.00 per year. In addition, there is a charge of £25.00 for each calf registered, and a charge of £50.00 for each bull calf registered. (All prices are plus VAT.)
