Royal Cornwall Show 8th-10th June 2017. Judge Duncan Vincent's comments now available.

There were 14 animals forward from 3 exhibitors at this years Royal Cornwall Show. Judge for the Guernsey Breed was Duncan Vincent and an early wet start cleared for the majority of classes. Duncan found his Champion in Blacknor Cracker Dynamic Lavender, a second calver now owned by Nicola Bottom.

Royal Bath & West Show 2017.

There were 9 exhibitors with 24 cattle forward for this years Bath & West Show at Shepton Mallet. This turned out to be the best show for Guernseys here for a long time. Judging the classes was Mr Jeff Daw who was very impressed with the standard of cattle on show.

Devon County Show 19th May 2017.

There were 20 Cattle forward from 6 Exhibitors for Richard Norman to judge. The classes were well spread out in numbers and it was nice to see so many cattle out for the first major show of the year. Richard found his Champion in Fairfield Bonnie, by Aaron, a five year old Cow in Milk owned and bred by Louise and Chris Carpenter.

North Somerset Show 1st May 2017.

The first show of the season kicked off on Monday May 1st at Wraxall, North Somerset. Two exhibitors had 6 cattle present and with 2 exhibitors not forward on the day, it was a disappointing start to the showing season. After heavy rain overnight, the day was perfect until just after the Grand Parade when the heavens opened and thunder and lightening prevailed!

All Breeds All Britain Calf Show 2016. Judges comments now available.

The ABAB Calf Show was held over the weekend of October 15th/16th, at the Three Counties Showground near Malvern. Eleven Exhibitors had 26 calves forward for Judge Colin Gleed to Inspect. In the Handling Classes, the champion Guernsey Handler was Emma Greenslade who was competing in her last ABAB.

S.W. Dairy Show/ National Guernsey Show 2016.

The S. W. Dairy Show incorporating the National Guernsey Show was held at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet on Wednesday October 5th. Six Exhibitors had 23 cattle forward for Judge Meurig James to inspect. Returning to the show after an absence of 3 years, were the Warren Family from Penzance and this proved to be an excellent day for their Tredinney Herd.

S.W Dairy Show, Calf Show Champion Lucky Cow Princess Annabelle.

The South West Dairy Show Calf Classes held on Tuesday, evening saw the Guernsey Breed triumphing over all breeds with Lucky Cow Princess Annabelle owned and bred by Pam and Dawn Coryn and John Pollard taking the Supreme Championship Calf. Annabelle had previously won the Coloured Breed Championship and she was tapped out Supreme Champion calf by Judge Wendy Young beating Clare Miles’ impressive Holstein Champion.

Round up of Summer Shows in South and West.

Melplash Show Thursday August 25th. Richard Norman and Laura Barnes took two of the Avalon Herd to Melplash Show.They were entered in the Any Other Dairy Breed classes. Bickfield Indus 9 by Phonze won the Heifer in milk class and Bourton Fiona 13 by Double LL,  the cow in Milk class.

Frome Show 2016.

Frome Show was held on Saturday September 10th 2016. Four Exhibitors had 9 animals forward for Judge Iwan Thomas (who was standing in for an incapacitated Oggie Smith! Get well soon.) to inspect. A very wet start to the day made showing conditions difficult but exhibitors carried on despite the weather.
