John Berry - update

Vice President, John Berry, suffered a bad fall and broke his hip. Following a lengthy operation he also suffered chest and kidney infections. John is now at home trying to get back to normal – a slow process and not going as quickly as he would like – he would welcome calls from his friends and colleagues in the Society.

Chris Watson

Best wishes from the members of the Society go to Chris Watson. He has spent the last month or so in hospital with liver problems but is now at home.  This morning Belinda informed me that Chris has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, our thoughts and very best wishes go out to him.

All Breeds All Britain Calf Show 2017. Judges comments now Available.

What a wonderful display of Calves and Showmanship we saw at the ABAB this year. There were Quality calves throughout the classes and the standard of Showmanship was outstanding. Our young members were a credit to their parents and the Breed.

Future Golden Breeders at The S.W. Dairy Show.

The Future Golden Breeders were taking part in the Handling and Calf classes at the S.W. Dairy Show. Judging the calves and handling was Mr Jonny Lockhead of the renowned Kedar Brown Swiss herd. In the handling section there were Any Other Dairy Breed Classes and in the first Class for 18 to 26 year olds we saw the return of an old hand.

S.W. Dairy Show/National Guernsey Show 2017.

There were eleven exhibitors with 22 cattle in the Wednesday classes at this year’s National Guernsey Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. Judge for these classes was Mr Colin Evans from Carmarthen. He found his Champion in Blacknor Cracker Iceberg Diana a fourth calf cow from Emma Greenslade and bred by Ian Crouch.
