Okehampton Show 2015

David Christophers was judging and had more Guernseys to judge than the other dairy breeds put together,but they only numbered 9 after the late withdrawal of the Autumn Gold  team. 4 maiden heifers saw Wiltown Patience in first place with Trewey Legend Jo Anne placed second 3 in calf heifers saw a second win in a week for Wiltown Annabelle with the Addington Fund’s Trewey Plum Crazy in second place Fairfield Olivia whilst the only cow in milk present was a worthy winner and went on to retain the Championship.

Honiton Show 2015

The impact of TB restrictions was a factor at this show as only two of the regular exhibitors were able to bring animals. The show opens with young handler competitions for Under 10’s and with 11 youngsters competing with Oliver Carpenter and Isabel Phillips showing their Guernsey calves.

Guernsey Island Heifer Show July 15

Brian Adams was very pleased to have been asked to judge the Heifer Show on the Island , with 20 heifers forward it is liely to be one of the biggest shows of the year. Class 1 Three years and under and over six months in calf 4 in calf heifers saw St Catherine Shulah placed first for Robin Jamouneau, this heifer was close to calving and sit=red by a home bred Laredo son.

Royal Guernsey Island Show 2015

Duncan Vincent has provided a report of the Guernsey Island Show which he judged on 23rd July 2015 Royal Guernsey Society Annual Show It was a great privilege to be asked to judge at the Royal Guernsey Society Annual Show. The weather was perfect and some fine animals paraded at Saumaraz Park.

The National Dairy Show 2015

16 Guernseys from 8 exhibitors were forward to be judged by Chris Lang (Springhill Guernsey Ohio USA) and was the best quality turnout at this show for several years. With more than 10,000 dairy farmers at the show over the two days it must/should become the focus for EGCS as it has become for the Ayrshire and Brown Swiss breeds, and for the first time the Brown Swiss were winners of the Supreme title with the Ayrshires in Reserve.

Royal Cornwall Show 2015

6 exhibitors and 16 Guernseys were present at Wadebridge  for David Mann to place,when for the second year running TB badly affected  the Guernsey section. The calf class was contested by the two beautiful calves from the Adam’s with Trewey Legend Joanne placed over Wiltown Patience 5 Maiden heifers saw Lucky Cow Lavender placed first with Sir Howard Guiness’s Graceful heifers second and third, with Wiltown Annabelle in 4th place.

Royal Bath and West Show 2015

2015 is the 50th year since the Show moved to its permanent site at Shepton Mallett and again the Guernsey section was the best supported of the dairy breeds with 25 Guernseys forward from 9 exhibitors with 2 exhibitors showing for the first time .

Devon County Show 2015

11 Guernseys forward from 4 exhibitors after TB restrictions prevented 3 regular exhibitors from taking part. The quality of the class winners was however top class and it was a pleasure to see a confident and accurate Judge in Dennis Smith from Oak Royal Holsteins making the decisions.

North Somerset Show 2015

5 exhibitors with 12 animals forward competed at the North Somerset show, but unfortunately a “false” positive for TB meant that the Graylands herd of the Parfitt family were missing. The Maiden heifers had 5 forward with an eight month age gap between the Phonze daughter Bickfield Indus 9 and the third placed heifer Wiltown Patience.

Tredinney Grumpys Echo is currently at UK Sires where semen is being collected for use at home and overseas. His dam Tredinney Andantes Eclipse 11 Ex 94 (2E)   is the oldest daughter of T Yogis Andante whose progeny have dominated the show rings in 2014.
