Welsh Dairy Show, Carmarthen, October 29th, 2019.

There were seven Guernseys forward from 3 Exhibitors at this year’s Welsh Dairy Show. Judging was Lyndon Bustard and he found his Champion in Latifa Princess Leia from Caroline and Mike Moody. In Reserve was Bourton Fiona 13 from Richard Norman.

All Britain All Breed Calf Show 2019.

This year’s ABAB Calf Show was held at the East England Show ground, Near Peterborough, on the weekend of 18th-20th October. Twenty-one calves from 7 Exhibitors were forward. There were also seven Guernsey Handlers taking part in the Coloured Breeds Showmanship section on the Saturday which was judged by Clare Swale.

2 Young Men seek experience with Guernseys

EGCS Office – I have recently been contacted by two young men, Chris Gardner and his partner Mehmet Bayrak, who are currently working with Holstein herds in Australia. They will be relocating to the UK next month and have applied to become members of the Society with a view to forming their own herd eventually.

National Show at The Dairy Show Shepton Mallett, Wed October 2nd 2019. Judges comments now available.

The Guernsey National Show kicked off on the Tuesday evening with the Handling and Calf classes. There were 5 Young members taking part in the Handling classes. These classes were sponsored by Crediton Milling Company and Quality Milk Producers. Our competitors were parading in the Any Other Dairy Breed Section and in the 16 to 20 age group, Abi Marshall was placed 1st Guernsey Showman with Michael Dawes second and Shannnon Dawes 3rd.
