Chris Watson

Best wishes from the members of the Society go to Chris Watson. He has spent the last month or so in hospital with liver problems but is now at home.  This morning Belinda informed me that Chris has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, our thoughts and very best wishes go out to him.

Guernsey International Issue & World Conference 2019

Cheri Oechsle writes: Neil Jensen was kind enough to provide contact information along with those that were available on the WGF site. I am reaching out regarding two opportunities. All Breeds All Britain Calf Show 2017. Judges comments now Available

What a wonderful display of Calves and Showmanship we saw at the ABAB this year. There were Quality calves throughout the classes and the standard of Showmanship was outstanding. Our young members were a credit to their parents and the Breed.

Future Golden Breeders at The S.W. Dairy Show 2017

The Future Golden Breeders were taking part in the Handling and Calf classes at the S.W. Dairy Show. Judging the calves and handling was Mr Jonny Lockhead of the renowned Kedar Brown Swiss herd. In the handling section there were Any Other Dairy Breed Classes and in the first Class for 18 to 26 year olds we saw the return of an old hand.

S.W. Dairy Show/National Guernsey Show 2017

There were eleven exhibitors with 22 cattle in the Wednesday classes at this year’s National Guernsey Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. Judge for these classes was Mr Colin Evans from Carmarthen. He found his Champion in Blacknor Cracker Iceberg Diana a fourth calf cow from Emma Greenslade and bred by Ian Crouch.

UK Dairy Day, Telford, Shropshire. Wed 13th Sept. Judges comments now available.

The EGCS were delighted to have a Guernsey entry at this year’s UK Dairy Day. Twelve cattle were forward from 7 Exhibitors for Judge David Mann to place. David found his Champion in Blacknor Cracker Iceberg Diana owned by the Greenslades in Devon.

West Show, Guernsey Island 2017

Congratulations to former EGCS President, Peter Richardson, on winning the Champion Guernsey Cow at the West Show, L’eree, Guernsey Island. His second calf cow, Myrtles Shiraz, was bred by Carol Allett. She is by St Catherine Crystals Rolex (Robin Jamouneau) and out of Myrtles Chardonnay 2.
