Yeovil Show 2017

A really good turnout of Guernseys at this year’s Yeovil show saw 12 cattle from five exhibitors. Judging the section was Mark Davis from Tiverton who was impressed with the quality of animals on show. He found his Champion in Bourton Starlight 11th from Hinton Farms.

Royal Cornwall Show 8th-10th June 2017. Judge Duncan Vincent's comments now available.

There were 14 animals forward from 3 exhibitors at this years Royal Cornwall Show. Judge for the Guernsey Breed was Duncan Vincent and an early wet start cleared for the majority of classes. Duncan found his Champion in Blacknor Cracker Dynamic Lavender, a second calver now owned by Nicola Bottom.

Future Golden Breeders and Calf Classes at Royal Bath & West.

The Young Breeders were well represented at the Show this year. For the first time EGCS entered the Team Challenge where a group of three competitors took part in a 3 element task. Thirteen year old Rhydian Phillips was thrown in at the deep and completed the Stock-Judging phase .

Royal Bath & West Show 2017

There were 9 exhibitors with 24 cattle forward for this years Bath & West Show at Shepton Mallet. This turned out to be the best show for Guernseys here for a long time. Judging the classes was Mr Jeff Daw who was very impressed with the standard of cattle on show.

Devon County Show 19th May 2017

There were 20 Cattle forward from 6 Exhibitors for Richard Norman to judge. The classes were well spread out in numbers and it was nice to see so many cattle out for the first major show of the year. Richard found his Champion in Fairfield Bonnie, by Aaron, a five year old Cow in Milk owned and bred by Louise and Chris Carpenter.

North Somerset Show 1st May 2017

The first show of the season kicked off on Monday May 1st at Wraxall, North Somerset. Two exhibitors had 6 cattle present and with 2 exhibitors not forward on the day, it was a disappointing start to the showing season. After heavy rain overnight, the day was perfect until just after the Grand Parade when the heavens opened and thunder and lightening prevailed!

EGCS Judges Workshop 2017

The EGCS held their Judges Workshop on Wednesday April 16th at Ponchydown Dairy, Blackborough, Devon, by kind invitation of The Greenslade family. There were six panel judges present and four probationers. Master judge was Colin Gleed and he and the other competitors had three classes to judge- Senior cow in milk, Junior cow in milk and Maiden heifers.
